Family Enrichment and Counselling Service is a not-for-profit community agency which aims to enrich individuals, families, and communities through counselling, education, and advocacy. We are hosting a Town Hall event titled Let’s Talk Youth Mental Health that will take place on Tuesday, September 13th from 6:30-8pm at the Capital Winter Club in Fredericton, NB.
The purpose of this event is to provide psychoeducation related to youth mental health and suicide. Counsellors from Family Enrichment will provide information on the first signs of mental health concerns and how to have conversations about mental health with the important youth in your life. There will also be two guest speakers: our first guest speaker is Chris Daken, the father of a teen who died by suicide, who will be sharing his story. Our second guest speaker is Morgan Higginson, who will share her past experiences as a teen who struggled with mental illness.
Information on resources and available mental health supports in the community will be provided at this event. We will be offering a short survey to gather input from our community members on the current available mental health services for youth. Counsellors and our guest speakers will be available to answer questions at the end of the event.
Family Enrichment and Counselling Service is committed to advocating for adequate mental health support for our youth and recognize that we need the input from all stakeholders to make meaningful change. We invite you to join us on September 13th from 6:30-8pm at the Capital Winter Club in Fredericton, NB for Let’s Talk Youth Mental Health.
